US stock futures inched higher cautiously on Friday ahead of a shortened trading session.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 50 points, or 0.15%. S&P 500 futures added 0.19% and Nasdaq 100 futures added 0.18%.

Wall Street looks set to cap off a short holiday week on an upbeat note, after minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting added to expectations that monetary policy tightening could slow.

Minutes from the Fed’s November meeting signaled that the central bank saw progress in its fight against high inflation and was seeking to slow the pace of rate hikes.

“The vast majority of participants judged that a slowdown in the rate of increase was likely imminent,” the minutes said.

The market is closed Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday and will close at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.
